Lewis's Woodpecker is named for Meriwether Lewis (of Lewis & Clark fame). He was one of the first to describe and draw them. Lewis's Woodpeckers sometimes peck at trees but also are one of the few woodpeckers who will snatch up insects in flight. They are found mainly in Western and Central United States.
The painting measures 5" x 7" and will arrive in an archival sleeve with a certificate of authenticity ready for framing and display. (The mat shown in the product photo is for illustrative purposes only and is not included with the purchase.)
