Hooded Merganser are the only ducks in North America whose specialty is eating fish. They find their prey by sight and have amazing adaptations to their eyes to help them do this. They can control the curvature of both the cornea and lens of the eye to focus. The hooded mergansers most obvious feature though is their flamboyant white crest on their black heads making them perhaps the most unusual duck I've ever seen.
The painting measures 5" x 7" and will arrive in an archival sleeve with a certificate of authenticity ready for framing and display. (The mat shown in the product photo is for illustrative purposes only and is not included with the purchase.)
