This painting takes me right back to when I was a little girl walking to school past a huge almost "hedge" of lilac bushes. They smelled SO good! We would all break off a few and bring them in for our teacher. She would put them in a jar of water on her desk and the entire classroom would be full of their wonderful scent all day. Even now when I see or smell lilacs I am taken back there.
