Black-billed Magpie are some of the most intelligent of birds.Theyare known to use tools and are capable of recognizing themselves in a mirror. Their habitat is the Western part of the US, probably because they prefer to live in unbroken forested areas so the treeless grasslands of the midwest would prevent them from migrating towards the east coast.
